The town of Bécancour owns a fresh water treatment plant that has reservoirs of a total capacity of 15 910 m³.

In order to meet the demand during peak periods and to increase fire protection, the Bécancour Waterfront Industrial Park has built an additional 5000 m³ reservoir connected to the municipal water system.

The pumping installations for this reservoir are equipped with a diesel-powered back up system and can deliver 16 m³ per minute. This installation meets the requirements of the most demanding insurer.
