Electricity

Located at the crossroads of three electrical power transmission networks, the Bécancour Waterfront Industrial Park is recognized as one of the most reliable sites of hydroelectric power in Quebec. The Park is fed by three different hydroelectric sources: Churchill Falls and James Bay – which are among the world's largest power stations – and the network of power stations along the St. Maurice River. In addition, a 550 MW cogeneration plant is located in the Park and nearby is the Gentilly-2 nuclear power station (685 megawatts) and a 352-megawatt gas turbine plant.

As a result, Hydro-Québec is able to provide electricity at highly competitive rates to all industries in the Park.

The following voltages are available in the Park: 230 kV, 120 kV, 25 kV and 600 V.
